Four Marriott Hotels in Goa Joined Hands in Support of this cause

Goa Marriott Resort and Spa, Le Meridien Goa Calangute, W Goa and Fairfield by Marriott, Goa Anjuna, all a part of Marriott International, organised the sixth annual ‘Run to Give’ a charity run in Panaji, Goa on September 22, 2019. These hotels joined other Marriott International hotels across 23 countries and territories concurrently in Asia Pacific for this fund-raising initiative. Since the event inaugurated in 2014, ‘Run to Give’ has become an integral part of the company’s tradition in cultivating a people-first environment that promotes associate well-being and drives its people to care for the communities where they do business.

These hotels joined other Marriott International hotels across 23 countries and territories concurrently in Asia Pacific for this fund-raising initiative. “The annual charity run is a key activity of our company’s TakeCare programme that empowers associates to live our culture. Through the initiative, we encourage our associates to take care of their physical well-being, while providing them with the opportunity to be part of a community that respects, shares kindness and contributes to a more compassionate world.” said Regan Taikitsadaporn, Chief  Human Resources Officer, Marriott International Asia Pacific.

This year, the four hotels came together in Panaji, Goa to raise funds for Rising Star Outreach in support of leprosy colonies of India become thriving, self-sufficient communities via Medical Care, Colony Development, and Education. The run gathered more than 300 participants consisting of Marriott International associates, affiliates and athletes.

The run held in Goa was a 5 KM run, where participants ran along the banks of the Mandovi River.  The participants were entitled to caps, t-shirts and breakfast after the marathon. The marathon concluded with a jubilant celebration along with the prize distribution to the winners of the event who were Mens: Prajwal Shetty, Oldest: Mahavir Singh Meena, Youngest: Karan Verlekar Women: Neha Naik, Oldest: Marina D’souza, Youngest: Pranjal Bandodkar.
