Goa Affordable Art Fest 2019 deadlines are extended to 5 Oct’19 from 2 Oct’19! The Fest will be held at the Museum of Goa from 14 Dec’19 to 14 Feb’20. Founded by artist Siddharth Kerkar in 2017, GAAF is an opportunity for emerging artists to exhibit at renowned gallery, which is a tough break to get in the world of contemporary art. GAAF is held at the Museum of Goa, one of the largest contemporary art spaces in the country. The Fest is also an opportunity for people to buy quality art at affordable prices. Applications for the third edition of the fest opened on 1st July’19. Last day to submit applications is now 5 Oct’19.

The Fest received numerous messages on instagram, facebook, whatsapp and email, and a few phone calls asking them to extend the deadline. The Fest thinks it in the best interest of its applicants to extend the deadline, so artists can continue to submit quality work.

Applications are open to all artists residing in India, of all specialities. GAAF charges no application fees or gallery charges. There is no upper or lower age limit for applicants, and they are not required to submit CVs or SOPs. GAAF also does not follow themes. The only criterion for submission to GAAF is that the artwork should be priced between INR 3,000 and INR 1,00,000.

Till date, GAAF has successfully sold artworks by 60 emerging artists worth INR 40,00,000. The works of selected artists have been exhibited at the Museum of Goa to 2,00,000 visitors from across the world. GAAF has presented 225 artists to date, many of whom were exhibiting for the first time.

Renowned artist, Jagannath Panda, and founder director of Latitude 28, Bhavna Kakkar, make up this year’s selection panel, along with the founder director of MOG, Subodh Kerkar. Together, they will select artworks that will be presented to 200 people every day at GAAF’19. In its last two editions, GAAF has received over 14,000 applications from which around 2000 artworks have been showcased.

MOG strives to take art to the people and to make it more accessible to all. This access includes giving emerging artists a stage befitting their talents. GAAF is an opportunity for young creative minds of our time to create art, connect with others interested in art and form a network, and for everyone to collect art of certifiable quality.
